ANNEKE SCHAUL-YODER, cello
Anneke Schaul-Yoder studied at Yale University, the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, and the Mannes College of Music. Her principal teachers were Marcy Rosen and Julia Lichten. Anneke is a member of the Jordan McLean Piano Music & Song Trio, which performs Mr. McLean’s music for trumpet, piano, and cello at the Rockwood Music Hall, John Zorn’s Stone, and other venues; with the Trio, she has collaborated with members of Arcade Fire, TV on the Radio, and Antibalas. She also is a chamber musician and principal cellist for the Mimesis Ensemble, with concerts this spring at Symphony Space and the Kennedy Center. Anneke is the solo continuo cellist for a number of other period performance groups, including Columbia University’s OperaRepo. An ardent chamber musician, she has participated in Le Domaine Forget’s Chamber Music session, the Mannes Beethoven Institute, and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival, where she was featured on a recording of Bartok and Poulenc for Bridge Records. Anneke has maintained a private cello studio since 2003, and has been on the faculty at the Brookyln Conservatory of Music since 2008.
