ROSE HASHIMOTO, viola

Rose Hashimoto is a native of Seattle, WA. She began studying the viola at the age of eight. Rose is an avid chamber musician and has performed in this capacity at Alice Tully Hall, Madison Square Garden, Jordan Hall, Yellow Barn, Taos, and Kneisel Hall, and she has been featured on WQXR's McGraw Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase. As an orchestral musician, Rose has served as the principal violist of the Juilliard Opera, the Mannes Orchestra, and the Seattle Youth Symphony, and she has performed in major venues across the US, China, and Japan. Rose currently resides in New York City, where she earned a BM from Juilliard and an MM from Mannes College of Music. Her major teachers have included Hsin-Yun Huang, Laurie Smukler, and Toby Appel. She is currently pursuing a Professional Studies Diploma as a full scholarship student at Mannes.
